Health Walks

A great way for you to get started on the path to better health is to get involved in local health walks. The aim of health walks is to improve an individual’s health. These are aimed particularly at those people who take little exercise or live in areas of poor health.

Organised walks can have a positive impact on your health, boost your social life and give you a break from the stresses and pressures of everyday life.

Walks are organised by a variety of organisations. Details of health walks in Somerset, and throughout South West England, can be found by going to the Walking the way to Health website.

South Somerset Health Walk Groups: Natural England organise a number of weekly walking groups all around South Somerset, with clubs meeting in Broadway, Ilminster, Chard, Crewkerne, Somerton and at various locations around Yeovil. See the website in the link above for more details, or contact Cheryl Lingard, the Healthy Lifestyles Officer, on 01935 462348 or cheryl.lingard@southsomerset.gov.uk.
