Taunton Park And Ride

The Taunton Flyer runs from the Park and Ride sites at Silk Mills and Taunton Gateway Moinday - Saturday, except public holidays.

Services run every 12 minutes (7 minutes during rush hour) between 6.40am and 7.30pm Monday-Friday (7.30am – 6.20pm Saturday), providing a convenient and cost effective way of getting into town for commuters, shoppers and students.

Calendar Monthly ticket - £30.00
Flexirider - £11.00 (allows 12 single journeys; valid for one calendar month from day of issue)
NO Concessions for English National Concessionary Travel Scheme Pass Holders
Annual Season ticket - £300.00 (Issued from the Taunton Flyer website or by calling 0845 345 9155)
Group Ticket - £5.50 (up to 5 persons travelling together in the same car; valid on day of purchase only) This ticket makes travel into town even cheaper for groups of people who car share to the site. To find a car share partner, register at www.CarShareSomerset.com and search for potential matches.

Shopper Special - £1.50 per car (up to 5 people in the same car who must travel together on the same journeys; valid between 10am and 4pm on Monday to Fridays only)

Taunton Gateway P&R

The Taunton Gateway Park and Ride on the A358, just off M5 junction 25 at Henlade. Its postcode is TA3 5LU.

There are around 1000 spaces.  

A number of high quality cycle lockers are also available to rent for an annual fee of £35. This enables cyclists to leave their bikes in a secure, enclosed locker while continuing their journey into town on the Park and Ride bus, or to drive to the Gateway car park, then continue their journey into town by bicycle (storing the bike in the locker overnight). Silk Mills P&R

The Silk Mills Park and Ride site is located on the North West edge of Taunton, postcode TA1 5AA. It has a staffed indoor waiting area with information and toilet facilities.

Cycle lockers are also available at Silk Mills P&R, though availability is often limited.

Town Centre Bus Stops

Stops served by the Park and Ride bus service are:
Taunton Gateway Park and Ride Site, East Reach, The Parade/Corporation Street, County Hall, Somerset College, Silk Mills Park and Ride Site. Services run in a loop, allowing passengers to travel from one side of Taunton to the other - great for people who work on the opposite side of town to where they live.

Peak time (07:30 - 09:30 and 16:05 - 18:00) - departures every 7 minutes

Off peak (09:30 - 16:05) - departures every 12 minutes

  • First departures to town centre at 06:40 and 07:05 from both P&R sites.
  • Last departures from town centre  to both P&R sites at 18:15, 18:30*, 19:00* and 19:30*.

*Last three departures to Silk Mills operate via Musgrove Park rather than Somerset College.

Saturdays
Every 12 minutes

  • First departure 07:30
  • Late departure at 18:20 

Further information

Both Park and Ride sites have designated disabled parking spaces with plenty of room, and the buses have low floors and space for wheelchairs and child buggies.
