Residential Travel Measures

Residential travel plans should contain a range of bespoke measures to encourage people living in new housing developments to travel sustainably.

The standard set of measures is outlined in the iOnTRAVEL manual [pdf] and includes

  • smarter travel information leaflets
  • residential cycle parking
  • green travel vouchers (financial incentives for householders to work at home, cycle to work or use the bus)
  • information and marketing throughout the selling process
  • travel plan coordinator
