Reform the Way People Travel, Work and Live

Your action plan will need to present detailed information in a standard form so it can be entered into iOnTRAVEL for monitoring purposes. This needs to include detail such as specifications and locations for physical items such as cycle parking, and timescales for delivery which relate to milestones such as construction and occupation of the development. You can download some tips about writing action plans [.pdf 505KB]

You must include any physical items on site plans, and follow the Contents checklist [.pdf 231KB] to ensure you have included an adequate range of measures in the travel plan. You can also download detailed guidance on providing travel information, cycle and motorcycle parking, visitor travel for health/leisure/retail facilities, and for residential developments which should be followed.

Use our guidance if you need any further help on the range of measures needed in your travel plan. The Menu of Measures is grouped into six brochures to help you generate travel solutions across the range of travel interventions. These outline steps you can take to enable and encourage people travelling to/from your site to choose a wider range of transport options, cutting down on car travel.
