New Developments
Travel plans will allow you to obtain planning permission more easily and are a requirement for most major planning applications.
You will need to show that your new development supports all smarter travel options.
Your travel plan must show in robust terms how it will contribute towards reducing car trips in Somerset. Somerset County Council aims to reduce the number of people commuting to work alone by car each day from 120,000 (2001) to 110,000 (2011). You will also need to show how your development improves access for visitors and customers, and reduces car travel in the course of work.
