Minehead Car Club Launches
People in Minehead will now be able to travel by car without the expense of running their own.
It follows the launch of Minehead Car Club, which allows members to save money, cut their carbon emissions and drive an almost new car whenever they like.
The car club is ideal for people who make occasional trips by car, whether that’s for an hour, an afternoon or a weekend. As opposed to owning your own car, being part of a car club you don’t have to worry about tax, insurance, or the next repair bill.
The Minehead Car Club is a new sustainable transport choice from Forum 21, working with Climate Action West CIC and AtWest Ltd. The West Somerset Strategic Partnership provided a grant towards development costs.
To join the car club you need to be over 25 with a reasonably clean driving licence. There is an initial £50 joining fee. Hire costs for the car are £2.50 per hour and 20p a mile. The car is bookable online or by phone.
