Transport integration comes to Somerset

A new bus service was launched on Monday, meaning that both of the Yeovil's railway stations are now linked by a single bus route.

The new service, which will run from 6.30am to 10pm, is expected to benefit travellers from across Somerset and Dorset. South West Coaches has purchased a new Optare Solo style bus to operate on the Route 68, which includes Lyde Road, Fairmead Road and Monmouth Road in Yeovil, as well as Barwick and Stoford. You can download a timetable at http://www.southwestcoaches.co.uk/timetables or use Transport Direct to plan a journey involving bus and train.

Somerset County Council will be providing travel advice to occupiers of the new development in Lyde Road as part of a travel package funded by Barratt Homes, so this will be particularly useful for commuters new to the area looking to head further afield by public transport.
