Somerset Future Transport Plan consultation - opens for business

The Somerset Future Transport Plan (2011-2026) consultation is open from Monday 29th November 2010 until 5pm on Friday 7th January 2011.  The plan gives an overview of Somerset County Council's transport priorities and policies between now and 2026 and has been written against a backdrop of reduced funding for transport in the future.  The document replaces the current Local Transport Plan and comes into effect in April 2011.

The document is a high-level plan and incorporates the aspirations of Somerset's communities and stakeholders into our overall approach to transport for the next 15 years.  Additional information in support of the Future Transport Plan is provided in a series of technical documents for stakeholders.  All the documents can be found on Somerset County Council’s website at www.somerset.gov.uk/futuretransportplan
