Helping You Plan in 2011

New materials have been produced by Moving Forward's travel plan team. We have not been hibernating over the Christmas period, and have updated our guidance to reflect the improvements made to travel planning for new developments during 2010.

Refreshed iOnTRAVEL manual

The help guide for Somerset's travel plan monitoring system has now been revised. It now features:

  • New quick shortcuts for adding basic measures to action plans when setting up sites
  • Actions now repeatable according frequency of implementation
  • Improved viewing facility for target data
  • Updating links to current guidance on the Moving Forward website

Revised Developers's Contents Checklist

Consultants use Somerset County Council's Contents Checklist to devise their travel plans. This has also been updated:

  • Mainstream use of iOnTRAVEL
  • Inclusion of new links to help including the Interactive Workplace and iOnTRAVEL's carbon calculator, and other materials to support the putting together of Action Plans
  • Integration with new thresholds for measures-only travel statements, travel plan statements, and full travel plans (contained within Somerset's draft SPD)
  • 'Phrases to avoid' compiled from rejected travel plans in 2010

  • Action Plans
  • Site Audits
  • Travel information provision
  • Cycle and motorcycle parking

These will be added to further in 2011.
