Closure of Bathpool Bridge

Bathpool Bridge in Taunton has been closed until 7 October for essential resurfacing work. 

 A Somerset County Council spokesperson said: "Work is being carried out on the bridge as it has badly deteriorated and needs patching up.  The bridge has to be closed as passing vehicles will cause vibrations which will make the patching work fail before repair material hardens properly.  We regret any disruption this may cause but safety is paramount and we have done our very best to minimise the period of the road closure." 

Temporary traffic diversions will be in place between 7am and 7pm and will be signposted on approach.
