How would you make the centre of Taunton a better place for shoppers?

Somerset County Council wants to know what you think as part of a consultation on proposals to pedestrianise parts of the town centre. You will be able to say whether this area should be wholly or partly pedestrianised, or left as it is at the moment.

One proposal is that North Street, St James’ Street and Hammet Street could be pedestrianised when the Taunton Third Way opens in winter 2010. This could see traffic removed from one of Taunton’s busiest shopping areas for either all or part of the day.

For your opportunity to give your thoughts in person, go along to the Somerset County Council marquee, which will be set up outside of the Next store on Fore Street from 10am-4pm.
