Somerset Cycle Challenge
It’s time to dust off your bike and get pedalling because the Somerset Cycle Challenge is on!
It follows the Somerset Workplace Cycle Challenge that we ran last summer. This time, the aim is for you to get cycling and encourage your friends and family involved too.
Somerset County Council’s Moving Forward team is running the Challenge to encourage people to cycle more often, creating habits that will last over time to make you more active, happier and healthier!
The distance you ride doesn’t matter – what does is enjoying cycling regularly and encouraging your friends and family to get involved and benefit too!
By taking part, you’ll be entered into a monthly draw to win £75 vouchers for cycle kit (£25 for Under 16s). We’re also giving away 200 cinema ticket vouchers to people who encourage others to get involved too.
Whether you cycle to get to work or do it for fun in your spare time, with spring arriving it’s a great time to get out in the fresh air and enjoy the freedom travelling on two wheels gives you.
Register to take part now!
It's quick and easy to register for free at the Somerset Cycle Challenge website. If you took part in the Workplace Cycle Challenge in June 2009, you won't need to re-register - just use your existing username and password.
The challenge runs until 31 July 2010. Make sure you log your trips on the cycle challenge website at least once a month to be entered into our monthly prize draw, and also keep track of the total distance you’ve cycled and calories you’ve burned!
