Cycling
There are many reasons to take up cycling. Firstly, there are the personal benefits – saving money, getting fitter and healthier, losing weight, saving time. Then there are the social and environmental benefits – reduced congestion, pollution and CO2, improving quality of life in communities and the economic and social benefits of a healthier population.
Balanced against these are concerns and fears – safety on the roads, choosing and maintaining a bicycle, security and finding appropriate routes.
This section of the website aims to address some of these concerns and provide information, ideas and support for those starting and continuing to cycle.
