Community Car Schemes
Community Car Schemes are voluntary schemes using volunteer drivers and their cars to provide a taxi style, door-to-door service for local residents who do not have access to public or their own transport. Transport can be provided for health and other essential journeys.
If you are interested in running a Car Scheme in your village or parish we have compiled a Car Scheme Toolkit to take you through the set up and answer your questions. It includes a draft constitution & rules and a handbook for volunteer drivers. You can download a printable copy here or contact us and we will email you a copy.
There is also information on the Somerset You Can Do volunteering website.
