If you’re looking to enjoy the good weather, get some exercise and do your bit for charity this summer, you could consider signing up for the 50/50 Rotary cycle ride.

The ride, which starts and finishes in Taunton, takes place on Sunday 7 June 2009.  Participants can choose to undertake either a 18, 28, 38, 46 or 50 mile ride. The challenge can be undertaken individually or as part of a team. To add a little fun and competitive edge there will be a prize for the team who raise the most money and Ralph Colman Cycles will be donating a bike for the person who raises the most sponsorship.

Beginning at Taunton Vale Sports Club in Taunton, the ten-mile route takes riders through Cheddon Fitzpaine, West Monkton and Kingston St Mary. For those daring to go a little further (28 miles or just 18) the route then delves deep into Bishops Lydeard, Halse, Hillfarrance and Bishop's Hull. Those going the whole hog (or just 28 miles) will discover Milverton, Thorne St Margaret, Rockwell Green and Bishop's Hull. Whichever route you choose to do you are guaranteed spectacular views and a good day out.

The application form can be downloaded from the Taunton Rotary Website or further information can be requested from Jacky Ford on 01823 277057 email: ford-jacky@sky.com.
